Thailand

On Feb. 25 2013 we embarked on another opportunity to explore S.E. Asia. We feel so blessed to travel like this, and are enjoying it very much!

In Krabi Town, we slept at a hotel with the market right outside of it. It was a blessing, because I think if we hadn't we'd of just gone and found the market anyway. You could buy all matter of tastey fruit there - watermelon pre sliced, in a bag, with pointy short chopsticks were only one of the options. Oh yeah - dominoes, too. As well as some wonderful art, tees screen printed on the spot, children's things, jewelry, etc. We had a good time wandering around!

  • On our way to return our scooter in Krabi Town.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed Tonsai and Railay, and then moved on to Krabi Town before our flight to Bangkok. We hit up the Wat Tham Sua - otherwise known as the wat with a lot of stairs. Or maybe not - but it should be. There's over 1,000 to the top, and some and nice and steep! Here a dog sleeps in the shadow of an multifaced idol.
  • A flower blooms at the Tiger Cave Temple - Wat Tham Sua.
  • Just like most Buddhist temples, the inside is filled with statues.
  • Statues of all sizes.
  • 1,237 stairs. And lots of them quite steep!
  • I really enjoy Asian cats. They're tough and adorable, and many times will come up and let you scratch their heads while they soak up attention. This one had black rimmed eyes.
  • Enjoying a little local soup.

  • A very very large Buddha's hand and hair.
  • Thai detailing at Wat Pho.
  • Fingernails of a statue in the Wat Pho in Bangkok. It was a Chinese statue of a man, evidently used as ballast when shipping things to Thailand and given as a gift.
